Born on the shores of Chennai
TRI2CHAMP began with a simple but bold idea: to bring world-class open water and multisport racing to India's coastline and make it accessible to everyone, from first-time swimmers to seasoned competitors. What started as a niche endurance event has grown edition by edition into one of South India's most anticipated race-day experiences. The choice of Kovalam's Blue Flag Beach is no coincidence; the international Blue Flag certification signals clean waters, safe conditions, and a well-managed coastal environment, making it an ideal stage for open water competition. With each edition, AquaFest has raised the bar on race organisation, athlete experience, and community building, cementing its place on the Indian endurance sports calendar.
Two series, one spectacular stage
AquaFest 2026 is structured around two exciting competition tracks, catering to a wide spectrum of athletes.
The Tri-Series brings together three classic multisport formats: triathlon, Aquathlon, and Duathlon, combining open water swimming with cycling and running across sprint and standard distances. Whether you are chasing a personal best or stepping onto a triathlon start line for the first time, the Tri-Series offers a distance for every level of readiness.
The OWS (Open Water Swimming) Series, anchored by the Swimathon, is a pure sea swimming challenge set against the open waters of the Bay of Bengal. Participants swim measured distances in the open sea, with the Chennai coastline and the sunrise as their backdrop. Categories are designed to welcome swimmers from juniors and beginners all the way to elite open-water competitors.
