About the Festival

 

Water Festival is a unique cultural and heritage celebration held at the historic Adalaj Ni Vav near Ahmedabad. The festival showcases the architectural beauty, history, and cultural significance of the famous stepwell built in 1499 by Queen Rudabai.

 

Organized with the support of tourism and cultural organizations, the festival combines music, heritage, art, and storytelling within the stunning surroundings of the ancient stepwell. Visitors experience classical music performances, folk art, cultural programs, food stalls, and heritage activities that bring the monument to life.

 

The five-storey stepwell is known for its intricate carvings, Indo-Islamic architecture, and traditional water conservation design, making it one of Gujarat’s most admired heritage sites.
