Land of the Apatani Tribe

Ziro Valley is primarily inhabited by the Apatani people, one of the most progressive and environmentally conscious tribes of Northeast India. Their ingenious terrace-based paddy-cum-pisciculture farming system uses natural water channels to grow rice and fish together, which is an eco-friendly practice admired worldwide.

The valley comes alive during Apatani festivals, most notably the annual four-day Ziro Festival, when traditional attire, music, dance, and rituals transform the town into a vibrant celebration, offering visitors a deeply immersive cultural experience.
