Experience Guru Purnima Parv

Celebrate the sacred bond between Guru and disciple at the spiritually enriching Guru Purnima Parv held in the ancient city of Ujjain. Organized by the Department of Culture, Madhya Pradesh, this two-day cultural festival is dedicated to honoring the timeless Guru-Shishya tradition deeply rooted in Indian culture and philosophy.

In Indian tradition, the Guru is regarded as a guiding force who enlightens life with wisdom, knowledge, and values. Guru Purnima Parv serves as a humble tribute to teachers and spiritual mentors who shape society through education and guidance. Hosted at the auditorium of Triveni Art Museum, the festival beautifully combines spirituality, classical arts, music, dance, and intellectual discussions.

The Festival Experience

Guru Purnima Parv creates a serene and devotional atmosphere filled with spiritual reflection and artistic brilliance. The venue is adorned with traditional decorations, soft lighting, and cultural motifs symbolizing reverence for the Guru-Shishya relationship.

The festival begins with an insightful research seminar on “Guru Shishya Tradition and Relevance”, jointly organized by Triveni Museum and Maharishi Panini Sanskrit and Vedic University. Scholars, artists, students, and spiritual seekers gather to discuss the enduring importance of the Guru tradition in contemporary life.

As evening descends, the cultural celebrations begin with soulful bhajans, devotional songs, and classical music performances centered on Guru Ashtakam and the Guru-Shishya Parampara. Audiences can experience mesmerizing presentations of classical singing, Kathak, Bharatanatyam, and Mohiniyattam performed by acclaimed artists.

A major highlight of the festival is the grand dance drama based on the life of Rishi Sandipani and Lord Krishna, staged by artists of Drupad Nritya Akademi through graceful group dance performances. The combination of storytelling, devotional music, and classical dance creates a spiritually uplifting and culturally immersive experience for visitors.
