Architectural Marvel and Peaceful Oasis
The Jama Masjid stands as a revered historical gem for more than just its age; constructed in 1802, this mosque showcases exquisite brick and stone craftsmanship that mesmerises visitors as soon as they step inside its majestic walls. When you step inside, intricate carvings, breathtaking artworks, and mesmerising marble stonework come to life before your very eyes, creating an eye-catching visual tapestry which tells a captivating tale of devotion and artistry.
Within the peaceful courtyard of this mosque lies a water tank capable of holding 10 feet. Springs fed from its bottom provide this serene oasis. Sixteen black stone arches emerge gracefully from this tank to provide structural support to its entire edifice, while five rows of wooden pillars each thoughtfully designed with receptacles for sacred books hold it aloft on its upper level.
An Edutainment Center that Empowers its Users
The Jama Masjid not only serves as a place of worship but is also home to Madrasah Muhammadiah, an institution offering free religious and secular education for Muslim youth. Since 1980, its library has been home to an abundance of rare manuscripts; recently undergoing extensive renovation work, moving its location onto the first floor while keeping intact its invaluable collection digitised for posterity.
