Relics & Royalty: Unveiling Centuries of Culture

Get a glimpse of a world that is from three centuries ago. Government Museum, Udaipur is where you will find a widespread collection of excavated relics, religious inscriptions, iconic sculptures and ancient paintings. The museum houses galleries such as the Children’s Gallery, the Handicrafts Gallery, the Sculpture Gallery and a few more. With exhibits such as stuffed models of animals, the Children’s Gallery is what could be called the history section. The Handicraft Gallery is a cultural repository of traditional garments such as sarees, handkerchiefs, various styles of turbans, and household items. The turban of Prince Khurram (Shah Jahan) is the highlight of this section. The Sculpture Gallery boasts artefacts such as figurines of Indriya Matrika and inscriptions dating back to the 2nd century.
