A place of legends

Bhimkund, situated near Karanjia, is a natural water reservoir with deep mythological significance. According to legend, Bhima, one of the Pandava brothers from the Mahabharata, struck the ground here with his mace to create this kund (pond) and quench Draupadi's thirst.

A sacred and scenic spot

Today, Bhimkund's clear waters lying among rocky cliffs and lush greenery, make it a very pretty and peaceful spot. Pilgrims take holy dips, especially during Makar Sankranti, while nature lovers and photographers are drawn to its quiet beauty and dramatic setting.

Other activities to do there

You can hike around the rocky terrain, enjoying scenic views of the surrounding hills. If you enjoy photography, you will love capturing the changing hues of the water and natural cliffs. Nearby areas also offer short nature trails and opportunities to learn about the fascinating local tribal culture.
