Step into the wild

Located in the Jasdan region of Gujarat, Hingolgarh Nature Education Sanctuary is a place where nature and learning come together. Spread across nearly 654 hectares, the sanctuary is part of Gujarat's efforts to preserve its dry deciduous forests and grasslands. Known for its rich biodiversity and as a centre for environmental education, it’s a perfect getaway for nature enthusiasts, students, and wildlife lovers.

Managed by the Gujarat Ecological Education and Research (GEER) Foundation, the sanctuary hosts around 50-100 nature education camps every year during the monsoon season.

A living classroom of nature

As you step in, you’re surrounded by dry deciduous forests and grasslands humming with life. The sanctuary is a unique blend of wildlife and learning, making it an excellent destination for educational trips, offering you an opportunity to reconnect with nature and gain a deeper appreciation for the environment. Spot animals like chinkara, bluebulls, antelopes, jackals, and foxes, while many bird species add a burst of colour to the landscape. The guided nature walks offer a chance to learn about the delicate balance that sustains this ecosystem.

For the love of birds and beasts

If birdwatching is your passion, Hingolgarh will leave you spellbound. The sanctuary is home to more than 230 species of birds, from the common peafowl to migratory waterfowl. Early mornings and evenings are the best times to spot these winged wonders. Meanwhile, the sanctuary’s mammals, such as hyenas and jungle cats, add to the thrill. Every trail here promises a chance to witness nature in action, offering moments that will stay with you for long.
