The Regional Museum of Natural History in Mysore, Karnataka is a great place to visit if you’re curious about the natural world and enjoy exploring nature. This museum is all about our environment, wildlife, and the importance of conservation. It has two galleries: one called Biological Diversity, which exhibits the variety of plants, animals, and geological treasures from the region, and another, Life Through the Ages, which takes you on a journey through the origins of the earth and life itself, as you walk through a tunnel in this gallery feeling like you’re traveling back in time!
What you will love most about this museum is its Discovery Centre. It’s a space where you’re encouraged to get to handle specimens. It’s especially exciting for kids, but adults can enjoy the experience too. The museum really makes learning about nature and conservation feel very personal. It also encourages creativity through activities like painting, modelling, making animal masks and creating costumes.
