History of the Temple
Takhteshwar Temple is believed to have been commissioned in 1893 CE by Maharaja Takhtsinhji, one of Bhavnagar's most prominent rulers. He ascended the throne in 1870 following the death of his father, Maharaja Jaswantsinhji, and played an important role in the development of the princely state.
