Moti Mata Temple and the Fair

The Moti Mata Fair is a prominent religious gathering held every year in Lokhandiya village, located in Khaknar Tehsil. Organized in the month of January, the fair begins four days before Purnima (Full Moon Day) and continues for about 15 days. The event is dedicated to Moti Mata, a revered local deity worshipped by devotees from across the region, making it one of the most important religious fairs in the area.

Devotion and Religious Activities

The fair attracts an estimated four lakh devotees who visit the sacred temple of Moti Mata during the festival period. Pilgrims come to seek blessings, offer prayers, and present traditional offerings at the shrine. The strong faith and devotion associated with the deity draw worshippers from nearby villages as well as distant places, creating a spiritually vibrant atmosphere throughout the celebration.

Fair Attractions and Local Culture

Beyond its religious significance, the Moti Mata Fair serves as a major social and cultural gathering for the local community. The fairgrounds come alive with temporary markets, food stalls, local vendors, and various attractions that add to the festive spirit. The large-scale participation of devotees and visitors transforms the event into a vibrant celebration of faith, tradition, and community bonding, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of the region.
