Preserving History, One Painting at a Time

Stare at walls that are filled with blissful paradise. RKCS Art Gallery and Museum a.k.a. RKCS Museum of Art and Craft was crafted to permanently showcase the original paintings of the illustrious artist of Manipur, Rajkumar Chandrajitsana Singh who is popularly known by his abbreviated name, RKCS. The museum exhibits a varied and impressive collection of paintings that capture the history, culture and the tradition of the state. Aside from history, RKCS’s masterful strokes also depicted the socio-cultural themes in the form of art installations, contemporary artworks, miniature portraits, waste boxes painting, bottle art and vintage movie posters of Hollywood, Bollywood & Manipuri cinema. From showcasing historical events and folklore to portraying scenes of everyday life in Manipur, the collection at the gallery is a visual narrative of Manipur’s rich heritage.
