The Kangla Archaeological Museum is located within the historic complex of Kangla Fort in Imphal, the capital city of Manipur. It is rightly the gateway to the rich cultural and historical heritage of Manipur. It was established in 2017 to preserve and offer a glimpse of the artifacts from Manipur’s ancient past. It features exhibits ranging from ancient coins to traditional weapons, pottery to manuscripts and old relics. The museum also houses replicas including that of the memorial stone of Maharaja Chandrakirti Singh at Ukhrul, Churachandpur, Tipaimukh and areas of Imphal Valley. The museum also showcases pieces that highlight the glory of Meitei kings and the significance of the Kangla Fort as a political centre of the time. It is a must-visit for history enthusiasts who want to be let in on Manipur's vibrant legacy.
