Legends and aliens

Dwarka Beach is home to the sunken city of Dwarka, also known as "Dwarawati" in Sanskrit literature. The beach is an archaeological wonder that holds the remnants of an ancient civilisation, which is deeply connected to Lord Krishna's legends. According to ancient Hindu mythological texts, Dwarka was a battleground for Lord Krishna and King Salva. The Mahabharata mentions a battle with flying objects, which has sparked the interest of ancient alien theorists.

It is believed that due to damage and destruction by the Arabian Sea, Dwarka has been submerged six times. Modern-day Dwarka is the seventh such city to be built in the area.

Enhance your journey

There is so much more that awaits you, beyond Dwarka Beach. If you are looking for more tranquillity in nature’s embrace, there is the beautiful Shivrajpur Beach. Venture beyond to Dwarka’s spiritual landmarks and pay your respects at the iconic Dwarkadhish Temple, also known as Jagat Mandir, dedicated to Lord Krishna. Explore the serene Gomti Ghat, where Lord Krishna is believed to have played in the waters of the river. You must also visit the Bhadkeshwar Mahadev temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, a temple on a small hill that juts out into the Arabian Sea. Here, you can bask in the coastal surroundings, soak in the warmth of the sun, and feel the gentle sea breeze rejuvenate your spirits.

Dwarka Beach, with its shining white sands, ancient temples, and diverse marine life, attracts tourists to experience the beauty, history, and spirituality that define Dwarka's essence.
