While you are here: Connected with Nepal by a bridge across the Kali river, Dharchula, a culturally rich hilltown falls on the ancient trading route between Kumaon and Nepal. Encircled by towering mountains, the town is nestled in a verdant valley on the banks of the gushing Kali. Standing on the Kailash Mansarovar9 and Chhota Kailash yatra10 routes, the town attracts tourists and devotees in large numbers. Dharchula offers a panoramic view of the mighty Panchachuli peaks with altitudes ranging from 6,334 metres (20,781ft) to 6,904 metres (22,651ft) to its west and falls on several trekking routes.
