Teej is deeply rooted in Indian traditions and is primarily celebrated by women to honour the union of Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva. The festival symbolises love, devotion, prosperity, and marital happiness. During this auspicious occasion, women dress in colourful traditional attire, apply intricate mehendi designs, sing folk songs, and participate in festive gatherings.
