Hariyali Amavasya 2026
Hariyali Amavasya is celebrated in several parts of India including Rajasthan. The Udaipur fair, however, holds a distinct identity as it witnesses enthusiastic participation from both rural and urban communities.
Celebrated annually on the New Moon day of Shrawan month, the festival emphasizes environmental conservation through large-scale tree plantation symbolizing our commitment to protect Mother Earth.
The Udaipur Municipal Corporation organizes a two-day Hariyali Amavasya Fair every year. This year the fair will be organised on 12th and 13th August at Fateh Sagar and Saheliyon ki Bari.
The fair retains a purely traditional character and features:
- Traditional swings for all age groups
- Haat Bazaar offering toys, handicrafts, household items, ornaments, and decorative goods
- Variety of Rajasthani street food
- Folk and cultural performances by renowned Rajasthani artists, enjoyed by tourists, tribal communities, and locals
A unique feature of this fair:
Entry on the first day is open for all. On the second day, entry is reserved exclusively for women and girls. Udaipur’s Hariyali Amavasya Fair is the only fair in the region with a day reserved solely for women
