Twenty four Gurus of Lord Dattatreya:
1) Mother Earth: to respond to cruelty with patience and love. No matter how much she is harmed or taken for granted, she continues to hold everyone with unconditional kindness.
2) Water: I learned from water that we must always keep moving.
3) Fire: Let us absorb all of life's experiences and convert them into a burning light that guides others along their journey.
4) Wind: To offer equal respect to all beings, to remain detached yet loving, and to be a source of renewal and warmth in everyone's life.
5) Space: I aim to accept every part of existence without letting it control or change me. Both the visible and invisible belong within my being, but none of it can ever limit my mind.
6) Moon: Like the moon, I may grow bright or fade, taste victory or endure defeat. Yet beneath every changing phase, the light of my true essence remains untouched.
7) Sun: I learned how to collect knowledge from everywhere, turn it into real-life wisdom, and reach everyone with it without favoring anyone or leaving anyone out.
8) Flock of Pigeons: Even well-meaning responses can become traps if they are driven by attachment. When our actions are bound by emotional clinginess, even goodness turns into a chain.
9) Python: I should be happy once my needs are satisfied instead of chasing my desires and causing myself sorrow.
10) Ocean: Whatever life brings—be it harsh blows or heavy trials—I will hold firm to my discipline. My inner order is non-negotiable.
11) Moth: Conquering my fear requires absolute surrender: to fly fearlessly toward wisdom, dive deep into its core, and allow it to reshape my essence.
12) Bumblebee: We must take sparingly from nature, receiving its gifts with profound gratitude and joy, so that we may nourish and flourish the source that nurtures us.
13) Honeybee: It is useless to hoard things, because when we die, everything is left behind.
14) Elephant: Be careful with my passions and desires. Worldly attractions easily seduce the senses, and in pursuing every fleeting craving, even a powerful mind can lose its freedom and become enslaved.
15) Deer: Our unfulfilled desires, attachments, and deeply ingrained mental habits make us eager to listen to sensory distractions and pleasing words. Ultimately, this tendency fuels suffering for both ourselves and those around us.
16) Fish: Material worldly attractions act as a lure. By remaining mindful of the captured fish, I stay conscious and keep my freedom intact.
17) Prostitute: The world cannot give me the satisfaction I seek, whether physical or spiritual. I refuse to depend on external circumstances and choose to create my own contentment from within.
18) Little bird: I learned that the secret of survival lies in renunciation, not in possession.
19) Baby: Watching this child taught me to ask only for what is truly necessary. Once my essential needs are met, I should take what is required and simply walk away satisfied.
20) A Young Woman with Bangles on Her Wrists: Commotion and discord thrive in numbers. Serenity is a quiet state that blooms only in the space of solitude.
21) Snake: I’ve learned to adapt to my surroundings and savour the gifts of nature without tying myself down to a permanent dwelling.
22) Arrow-maker: I’ve learned to give my full focus to whatever I’m doing, regardless of how major or minor the task may seem.
23) Little Spider: Trying to construct a safe haven through complex plans often backfires. We end up tangled in the very webs we build, consumed by the chaos of trying to control everything.
24) Worm: I need to master the art of deep listening so I can fully lose myself in the inner, eternal sound of nada that resides within me.
