About The Shiv Dola Festival

The Shiv Dola Mahotsav is one of the most revered religious celebrations of Khargone city, organized annually during the holy month of Shravan in honor of Lord Shri Siddhanath Mahadev Ji. Deeply rooted in the spiritual traditions of the region, the festival symbolizes devotion, faith, and the cultural heritage of the Malwa-Nimar region. The grand procession of Lord Siddhanath Mahadev is regarded as a sacred occasion, drawing devotees who seek blessings and participate in the collective celebration of Lord Shiva.

 Cultural Celebrations

The highlight of the festival is the magnificent Shiv Dola Yatra, during which the beautifully decorated Dola (palanquin) of Lord Siddhanath Mahadev is taken on a ceremonial tour across Khargone city. Traditional music bands, devotional singing groups, folk performances, and enthusiastic devotees create a vibrant and spiritually charged atmosphere throughout the city, making the event a unique blend of devotion and cultural expression.
