About the Event

Organized by the Culture Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh, “Lalit Parv” is a three-day cultural festival celebrated at Triveni Kala Evam Puratatva Sangrahalaya on the auspicious occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami. The festival is dedicated to the artistic, spiritual, and cultural expressions associated with Lord Shri Krishna and reflects the rich devotional heritage of Indian tradition. The event attracts devotees, art lovers, scholars, and tourists who gather to experience the grandeur of Krishna-centric cultural celebrations in the holy city of Ujjain.

Activities & Cultural Performances

The festival features a wide range of cultural presentations by renowned artists depicting various phases of Lord Krishna’s divine life, including Krishna Janma, Bal Leelas, Radha-Krishna Shringar, and devotional compositions of Meera Bai. Folk songs, folk dances, classical music, dramatic performances, and literary presentations inspired by Krishna traditions create a vibrant devotional atmosphere. The event also showcases the influence of Lord Krishna in local folk culture, religious songs, Holi traditions, and traditional storytelling.

Cultural Significance

Triveni Kala Evam Puratatva Sangrahalaya is a unique cultural centre dedicated to the three eternal streams of Indian Sanatan culture — Shaiva, Shakta, and Vaishnava traditions. The museum regularly organizes lecture sessions, exhibitions, and cultural programs to preserve and promote India’s spiritual and artistic heritage. “Lalit Parv” serves as an important platform for celebrating the cultural legacy of Lord Krishna while offering visitors an enriching experience of Madhya Pradesh’s traditional art, devotion, and folk traditions.
