About the Event

Govardhan Parv (State-Level Govardhan Puja) is an annual cultural and spiritual celebration organized by the Directorate of Culture, Government of Madhya Pradesh. The event commemorates the sacred tradition of Lord Krishna lifting the Govardhan Hill, symbolizing harmony with nature, devotion, and the importance of cow protection. The celebration showcases the rich cultural heritage and traditional values of Madhya Pradesh through religious rituals and cultural activities.

 

Event Highlights

Organized at the Open-Air Theatre (Muktakash Parisar), Ravindra Bhavan, Bhopal, the event brings together devotees, artists, and visitors from across the state. The programme features Govardhan Puja, Gau Puja (Cow Worship), traditional rituals, folk music, folk dance performances, and cultural presentations that reflect the vibrant traditions and artistic heritage of Madhya Pradesh. The celebration serves as a platform to preserve and promote the state's living cultural traditions.

Significance
