Shukaltirtha, situated on the banks of the Narmada in Bharuch, is named after Shukleshwar Mahadev and the significance of the darshan of Lord Vishnu made of white sand is described in the ures. In the mythological fair held here, millions of people from all over India gather to bathe in the Narmada and get purified by having the darshan of Lord Vishnu.A fair is held here on every Kartiki Punam day. From the name of which the name of Shukaltirtha village was born, this pilgrimage site is situated on the holy bank of Narmada and the temple of Shukleshwar Mahadev is magnificant. The statue of Lord Vishnu in this temple changes three forms of the day. He gives darshan to the future in infancy, in the afternoon when he is young and in the evening in the evening. According to a folklore even today Lord Vishnu goes to bathe himself in the water of Narmada in the morning. If someone goes to visit with five Poonams with faith, then Lord Vishnu fulfills all his wishes. Also, on the birthday of Lord Vishnu on Kartak Sud Poonam, he appears in Shukaltirtha and people flock to see him. A fair is organized in Shukatirth village for six consecutive days from next Dev Guhi Agiyaras till Poonam. The income from this fair is used by the Gram Panchayat during the year for the cost of lights and water of the village as well as for the development of the village.
