A treasure trove of Harappan antiquities

Step into the fascinating world of ancient civilisations at the Archaeological Museum and Excavation Site. Here, history comes alive through the archaeological remains discovered near Ropar, the very first Harappan site excavated in Independent India!

As you wander through the exhibits, you'll be taken on a journey filled with a rich cultural tapestry that spans from the Harappan era to medieval times. Marvel at remarkable artefacts, including exquisite Harappan antiquities, unique Painted Grey ware, and treasures from the Saka, Kushana, and Gupta periods. Don't miss the "Vina Vadini" – a beautiful depiction of a lady gracefully playing the vina, alongside stunning steatite seals, intricate copper and bronze implements, and gold coins once belonging to the legendary Chandragupta. The collection also showcases significant protected monuments from Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh, along with World Heritage monuments!
