India’s own Jurassic Park

Step back to an era over 65 million years ago when you visit Balasinor Fossil Park in Gujarat. Located in the village of Raiyoli, it was accidentally discovered in the 1980s by paleontologists who stumbled upon fossil remains and dinosaur bones. Since then, it has become a hub for researchers and scientists. Excavations revealed that this land was once home to over 13 species of dinosaurs, including the Rajasaurus narmadensis, a thick-legged, heavy-bodied carnivorous dinosaur with a crested horn. Known as the "King of Narmada," this predator is closely related to the famed Tyrannosaurus Rex.

Uncover secrets buried for millions of years

The fossil park offers a fascinating look at preserved dinosaur bones, eggs, and nests. As you walk through the grounds, you are greeted by life-sized statues of these ancient creatures, providing a vivid picture of what once thrived here. You’ll feel the thrill of standing on a site that once housed prehistoric life. The Rajasaurus, whose name combines "raja" (king) is a highlight of the park. Its discovery has brought global recognition to this small village.

It's an adventure at the Dinosaur Museum

Spread across 25,000 square feet, this state-of-the-art museum has 10 galleries featuring films, exhibitions, and fossil exhibits. A special 3-D film on Rajasaurus narmadensis brings this incredible creature to life, while other galleries showcase the dinosaurs of Gujarat and India. The museum caters to all ages with interactive displays, a time machine, and a fun-filled Dino Park for kids. The atrium, designed as a replica of a Mesozoic-era habitat, transports you back in time.
