As you wander around the hallowed halls of this gallery, you will be mesmerised by a prolific procession of thirteen magnificent flying marvels. Here, amidst a showcase of planes, helicopters, and the beating hearts of engines, lies a treasury of tales waiting to be unravelled.
Each aircraft is a testament to the valour and innovation that has shaped our aerial history. Among these illustrious artefacts stand icons of prowess and distinction like The Breguet Alizé, IN202, and The British Aerospace Sea Harrier FRS.51, The de Havilland Devon, The Havilland Vampire T.55, The Fairey Firefly TT.1, The HAL Chetak, The HAL HT-2, The Hawker Sea Hawk Mk 100, The Hughes 300, The Kamov Ka-25, The Lockheed L1049G Super Constellation, The Short Sealand II and The Westland Sea King Mk 42.
If a real-life experience is more your thing, you can sit in the belly of the naval aircraft carrier and feel the magnificence of the INS Viraat. There is also a wide and eclectic collection of naval equipment, stories on significant battles and immersive experiences such as a simulation room to experience.
Amongst the many interesting facets of the museum are the ‘Suraksha’ room which displays gears that have heralded important missions across the sky or even the Multimedia room that has a jet cockpit simulator, perfect for a fighter pilot's first-hand experience. There’s also a homage room dedicated to men who sacrificed their lives for the country. The names of naval pilots whom we lost between the years 1958 and 1997are engraved on a granite stone .
