It is also a dream for bird watchers. Named after the Kinnerasani River that flows through it, this sanctuary is surrounded by the lush hills of the Eastern Ghats and lies close to the Kinnerasani Dam.

A haven for wildlife enthusiasts

As you go through the sanctuary, you’ll encounter sambar deer grazing by the riverbanks to flocks of migratory birds resting in the treetops. The sanctuary is home to leopards, sloth bears, and wild boars, and you just may be lucky enough to spot some of these elusive creatures. For birdwatchers, the sanctuary offers a rare treat, with sightings of species like the Indian roller, peafowl, nutkas, and spoonbills. Each step through this sanctuary gives you an up-close look at the incredible biodiversity that makes Kinnerasani a true treasure.
